I hold a Master of Counselling Psychology from Yorkville University and am currently in the process of becoming certified in Emotionally-Focused Individual Therapy with ICEEFT. I have experience working with IFS Therapy, EFT, Compassion-Focused Therapy, and have completed my Level I with the Vancouver School of Narrative Therapy. I mainly work with individuals who are struggling with emotion and attachment related themes such as childhood trauma, relationship struggles, self-esteem, depression, or anxiety.

I have always been someone who questions why things are or what the purpose might be for the way things are. You will find I bring that critical theory lens into my work, and it often helps me to understand and empathize with people from all walks of life. You will typically find me with my sheep or digging in the earth in my garden. The natural world has always been a grounding place for me and I try to bring that into my office space as well in the hopes that others find it grounding too.

What Do we actually DO in session?

I work in the here and now during our sessions. Rather than focusing primarily on the details of what happened, we bring important moments to life in the room so we can explore how they felt and what they came to mean for you. This allows us to work with your lived emotional experience, not just the story about it.

The work we do together focuses on slowing these patterns down in the present moment so they can be understood and changed. Rather than getting caught in the details of what happened, we pay attention to how your body, nervous system, and attachment needs are responding right now. This creates the conditions for insight, emotional relief, and new choices—so that instead of being pulled back into familiar reactions, you can respond with more flexibility, self-trust, and connection. I want to work with you to figure out where the protective parts of yourself are blocking you from creating the change you want in your life. It is normal to want to avoid pain, but avoiding that pain can also lead to those moments of feeling hopeless, stuck, and overwhelmed.
